The pantry's Bazaar VERNALTE ISAAC MARTINEZ - Sevilla - 24/11/2010
I have seen and read today a story about the Chinese city of Yiwu in which tells the kind of Titan which has made this city as "pantry" bazaar business world and how this has been another miracle Chinese chillingly multiplying per capita income of its inhabitants. But not only have this, the report also shows how these workers live, charging ridiculously low wages and miserable most of the time, no social protection for them or their families, and living in the same factories for business productivity is the maximum possible.
And I wonder, is this not a new form of slavery in the twenty-first century? Are not we agreeing that in a country far from democracy can boast?
This is what globalization has brought us. Ignorance and "do not know what else" of world leaders, which sometimes have shown how the management of the so-called pandemic of avian flu and swine with the purchase of millions of vaccines that are not needed now " recycle "with the consequent public spending, has made them believe in the" panacea "that under the pretext of freedom of movement of the markets, multinationals have been sold, to move production of developed and democratic countries in the world to new Asian areas, where dictatorships rampant and nothing is known of the social protection that everyone deserves their agents, not only for political obligation, but for human dignity.
Only consumers can stop this with our responsible attitude in the purchase, and of course, with our vote.
