The difference is that Tamiflu works on another cycle key proteins of influenza virus, the polymerase. This mechanism has the advantage that it is an internal process and vital to the virus (to the extent that one can say that a virus is alive), making it more difficult to have mutations. Also, do not give within 48 hours, so there is more room for maneuver. Fits all influenza viruses, including H5N1 and H1N1.
