The new coronavirus detected two months ago in Saudi Arabia is still present, although their hit rates are still very low. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that it has registered four cases, of which a person is deceased. This is and two patients died from this new pathogen.
The low numbers do not reassure the health authorities. Of the six cases identified so far, four (including two deaths) lived in Arabia, and the other two were from Qatar. For the first time two patients were detected in the same family, including one of the dead. But the virus, related to the one that caused the 2003 SARS, it reveals its mysteries. Still do not know if is easily transmitted between people (a key factor to assess their risk), or what their origin.
Given these uncertainties, WHO maintains warning to countries, especially those in the area, to step up their vigilance. The goal is to know at all times the actual extent of the infection and if it stays at these levels or increases and spreads. The organization considers it possible that the real expansion of microorganism is greater than described, since the symptoms can be mistaken for other causes of pneumonia and only pathogen-specific analyzes identifiable.
