The Serbian authorities have reported the death of an "older woman" in the country as a result of West Nile virus Although the Ministry of Health of the Balkan country ruled there is an outbreak, the European Centre for Disease Control has recorded 11 cases in the last week. What has not yet been confirmed death from infection.
Nile virus, as the name suggests, was first described in 1937 in a Ugandan woman, near one of the sources of African river. But it is easy to adapt, and it has settled in Southeast Europe and in America, north of the Rio Grande. In the U.S. has caused at least 87 deaths, and it affects most of the country, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta. In Europe are 447 cases (113 in the EU), and extends from Greece to Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Russia.

Infection with West Nile virus is harmless to most people, but in 20% causes symptoms that can be very serious. Related to the Japanese encephalitis virus, has a reservation in birds and is transmitted by the bite of a common mosquito, so it sits easily in tropical countries, where the cold is not extreme. No specific treatment or vaccine.
The Serbian authorities (and Americans) say it's best to avoid mosquito bites, either through the use of repellents and short sleeves. The United States has proceeded to fumigate areas like Manhattan to prevent its spread.
In Greece, the virus has now been settled at least three summers. And do not think that is going to go. In animals, it has also been cases in Spain. In 2010 a man was admitted to Port Royal by infection.
